​​​​​​​MIDDLESEX COUNTY on October 25, 2022: Following yesterday’s municipal election, Middlesex County would like to congratulate all of the newly elected or acclaimed officials across the County. We welcome the following Mayors and Deputy Mayors to County Council for the 2022-2026 term:

Through the summer of 2022, four local residents experiencing homelessness were invited to share their stories. Through this storytelling project, the Library plans to share stories that speak to the importance of equity, diversity, and inclusion. The first phase of this project centers on homelessness.

MIDDLESEX COUNTY on October 6, 2022: Middlesex County and the City of London are collecting feedback from early years and childcare professionals on their experiences working in this sector. The County and City are looking for people who are currently working in this field or have retired or moved on to another profession to take part in our survey to get a full understanding of how the workforce can be best supported in London-Middlesex.

The term 'rut' is the mating season for certain mammals. From October to November, the Middlesex OPP sees the most collisions with deer, usually in the early morning or dusk timeframes, although they can occur anytime. Below are some tips from Work Place Safety North on how to drive safely, especially around deer appearing more often this time of year.

September 30th is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, this day commemorates the children who never returned home and survivors of residential school systems as well as their families and communities. We acknowledge the land in which we gather is the traditional territory of the Attawandaron, the Anishinabe, the Haudenosaunee, and Lunaapeewak peoples who have a long-standing relationship with the land, water, and region of Southwestern Ontario. The local first nation communities of this area include Chippewas of the Thames First Nation, Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation, and the Munsee-Delaware First Nation.

The theme for this year's Truth and Reconciliation Week is “Remembering the Children." We memorialize the children lost to the residential school system and honour Survivors and their families.
