Middlesex County Warden’s Statement on Anniversary of Afzaal Family deaths

MIDDLESEX COUNTY: On June 6, 2022, Warden Warwick issued the following statement on behalf of County Council and the Corporation of Middlesex County regarding the targeted attack that took the lives of four of the five members of the Afzaal family.

“Today marks the one-year anniversary of the heartbreaking tragedy that took the lives of four of the five members of the Afzaal family. On behalf of Middlesex County Council and County Administration, I extend my deepest sympathies to the Afzaal family’s relatives, friends, and the entire Muslim community who are mourning this horrific attack. I along with all members of Middlesex County honour Our London Family and stand against acts of discrimination, violence, and hate in all forms. During this time of reflection and remembrance, we hope that our communities continue to work together towards becoming a more welcoming, inclusive, and safe place for all.”
