Middlesex County Delegates Advocate for County Strategic Focus and Goals at AMO 2023 Conference

MIDDLESEX COUNTY (August 23, 2023): Delegates from Middlesex County advocated their strategic focus and goals at the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) 2023 Conference. The conference served as a platform for the County's representatives to engage with provincial officials and municipal leaders from across Ontario. With a dedication to collaboration, delegates engaged in purposeful discussions with provincial officials and exchanged pertinent knowledge with other municipal leaders as they advocated for the needs of the County and the region.

The Middlesex County delegation, led by Warden Cathy Burghardt-Jesson, embarked on a mission to build robust partnerships and foster productive dialogues that will contribute to the County’s growth and development. The delegates leveraged this pivotal platform to address the County’s critical needs, amplify the County's voice, and explore collaborative avenues with their provincial and municipal counterparts.

The heart of the delegation's mission was advocacy – featuring Middlesex County's strategic focus and goals. Connecting through infrastructure is one of the County’s strategic focuses from the 2021-2024 Strategic Plan. Through compelling presentations and data-driven proposals, delegates pinpointed the County's looming infrastructure needs, the necessity for long-term sustained funding, and strategic asset management. These focal points are imperative to ensure that local communities are built on a sustainable foundation that is connected and thriving.

Delegates look forward to working together and collaborating with other municipalities to address shared concerns with the province. Through targeted discussions and collaborative engagements, the delegates effectively conveyed the importance of strategic investments, resource allocation, and policy frameworks that will empower the County and the region to flourish.
