FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

River Heights EarlyON Child and Family Centre Opening

MIDDLESEX COUNTY: on March 22, 2024, Warden Aina DeViet issued the following statement regarding the opening of the River Heights EarlyON Child and Family Centre.

On behalf of the County of Middlesex, I would like to extend our warmest welcome to the River Heights EarlyON Child and Family Centre and to all those who gathered for the official opening this week.

The journey leading up to this moment was one of dedication, collaboration, and unwavering commitment. With the commencement of construction of the 8.4 million dollar Child Care Centre and EarlyON Child and Family Centre in June 2022, and its completion in Fall 2023, we stand here today to celebrate the realization of a vision—a vision made possible through the continued support of the Ministry of Education and the diligent efforts of the Thames Valley District School Board.

I commend our dedicated Middlesex County EarlyON team for their tireless efforts in transforming this Centre into a vibrant, welcoming space that fosters learning, and promotes holistic development. Visiting families are supported by program facilitators trained in early childhood education who can provide individualized advice on child development. Caregivers can also access information on family-centered services and programs in the Middlesex-London area.

I would like to acknowledge the City of London, as Service System Manager for London and Middlesex County, for their support and commitment to early years programs and services in the many communities we support across the County. I would also like to thank MPP Rob Flack for attending the opening, his support of this project, and for the Province’s commitment to this vital service.

I am confident that this EarlyON Child & Family Centre will provide Dorchester and area families with engaging opportunities to connect, learn, and grow together and support young children on their journey of lifelong learning and development.
