WARDEN
Councillor Aina DeViet - 2024 Warden
Mayor, Municipality of Middlesex Centre
Biography:
Aina grew up in “old” Lobo Township where she currently resides. After receiving her undergraduate and master’s degrees from Western University (Hon. BA, MA), Aina began her career in a public accounting firm. Her career path enabled her to gain experience from all financial services pillars and led to founding AiD Consulting Inc. in 2000, where Aina worked with leaders of private, public and non-profit organizations to find and implement strategic solutions to their financial challenges. During this time, she also volunteered in governance, policy, and advisory roles within organizations including the Society of Management Accountants of Ontario and the London Economic Development Corporation.
The return to her family home with her husband in 2007 was the catalyst for new changes, which included getting re-acquainted and involved with local organizations, such as the board of the Women’s Rural Resource Centre. That experience and learning about current local issues led to her run for Middlesex Centre Council in 2010 where she served as Councillor and Deputy Mayor before assuming her current role as Mayor; as Mayor, she also sits on Middlesex County Council where she currently serves as Warden of Middlesex County.
In addition to her public role, Aina enjoys country life, music, travel and time with family and friends.

Biography:
Warden Cathy Burghardt-Jesson is well known to Middlesex County as a community champion, volunteer and ultimate hockey fan. Elected in 2022 to serve a third term as Mayor of the Township of Lucan Biddulph, Cathy entered local politics being elected as Deputy Mayor in 2010. Warden Burghardt-Jesson was previously elected as Middlesex County Warden in 2020 and 2021. This will be her third term as Warden.
Cathy is the proud mother of four adult boys with her husband, Kirk. When she is not tending to local and County Council matters, Cathy is actively serving the community as a member of the Lake Huron Primary Water Systems Board, a member of the Annual Fire & Ice Fundraising Hockey Game Committee, a member of the Middlesex-London Paramedic Service Authority Board, and as a member of the South Central Ontario Region Economic Development Corporation (SCOR EDC).
Cathy has served as Chair of the Lucan Relay for Life, President of the Lucan Minor Hockey Association, Chair of the Logan Couture All Star Game and Chair of the Under 17 World Hockey Challenge - Lucan Site. In 2018, Cathy’s own love for hockey became contagious as the community rallied together and gained national attention while beating out the towns of High River, Alberta, Lafleche, Saskatchewan and Huntingdon, Quebec to become Kraft Hockeyville Canada; an accomplishment that resulted in the municipality receiving a $250,000 grant to upgrade its local facilities and hosting a NHL pre-season game.
Finally, Cathy has been a proud Middlesex County resident for over twenty-five years!
