Financial Supports

Services and Supports for Ukrainians 

If you are a temporary resident in Canada under the Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel (CUAET) pathway, you may be eligible to receive financial supports from the federal, provincial and municipal governments. Federal Supports

The federal government is providing one-time transitional financial assistance of $3,000 per adult and $1,500 per child. Applications for assistance must be submitted through the online portal. For more information go to Ukraine immigration measures: Financial assistance.

All applications require a Canadian bank account.

Provincial supports provided through the County of Middlesex

Emergency Assistance: Ukrainians in Ontario under the Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel pathway may apply for temporary financial support. For more information visit Apply Emergency Assistance  

Discretionary Benefits: Discretionary benefits is available to those who are in receipt of Emergency Assistance and includes health related and emergency assistance items. Call 519-434-7321 ext 2236 or @email.

Visitors under Emergency Travel measures enacted by the federal government, including the Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel (CUAET) measure, with a 900-series SIN and an open work permit are eligible to apply for the full range of Employment Ontario programs, depending on the program’s eligibility and suitability requirements.

Community Employment Choices 

Supports job seekers and businesses in meeting the labour market needs of Middlesex County with job training information, career planning, job search support, job placement opportunities, and incentives, as well as referrals to community resources. LEADS

Provides assistance to people above the age of 14 with physical, mental health, development and learning disabilities.  Individualized skills development and employment support services. Go to www.leadsservices.com/contact-us for more information.

Next Wave (YOU)

Offers programs and supports for youth ages 12-30 within the Strathroy community and Middlesex County.  YOU supports youth to build skills, confidence and independence to reach their potential. Go to you.ca for more information

There are five employment resource centres located throughout Middlesex County Libraries, available to all residents at no-cost to help people seeking employment, or looking for career training and skill upgrades.

Middlesex Family Connections

Do you have questions about local programs and services for your family? Middlesex Family Connections supports Middlesex families in accessing information about family-centered programs and services in Middlesex County. Whether you are seeking information on child care, speech & language services, mental health supports, municipal recreation facilities, or other family-centered supports and services, you will find what you need at middlesexfamilyconnections.ca.

Child Care Fee Subsidy Program

EarlyON

Middlesex EarlyON programs are free for caregivers and children from birth to six years old. Programs offer free play, storytelling, songs and games as well as opportunities to connect and network with other caregivers and families. EarlyON facilitators can support caregivers with answers to questions about child development and parenting and information about services available through local community agencies. Programs are offered in Middlesex County Library Branches across the County.

Can I Play Too? 

This program provides financial assistance to families whom reside within the boundaries of the Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc or the Municipality of Southwest Middlesex and whose financial situation creates barriers that limit children, in their care, from participating in community sports and recreation programs. Funds may be limited. Library Services

Middlesex County Library is a system of 15 branches that provide free access to quality materials and resources to all residents of Middlesex County, with dedicated, friendly and helpful staff ready to assist you. Library staff are knowledgeable and trusted Community Connectors equipped to help provide information on services available through local community agencies. Homeless Prevention and Housing

The County of Middlesex provides housing supports to prevent and divert households from experiencing homelessness and to connect them
