The project is being conducted as a Schedule A+ project under the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) (2015). The Study will follow the Municipal Class EA process by establishing the need and justification for the project, considering all reasonable alternatives with acceptable effects on the natural, social and cultural environments, and proactively consulting with the public, stakeholders and Indigenous Peoples.

The public consultation process is vital for this Study and the County wants to ensure that anyone with an interest in the project has the opportunity to provide input.  Public input and comments will be received until February 17, 2023.  Early identification of individual and group concerns greatly aids in addressing these concerns.  A Public Consultation Centre may be held at a later date to present the Technically Preferred Plan.  All information will be collected in accordance with the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (2009).  With the exception of personal information, all comments will become part of the public record. Persons will be advised of future communication opportunities by electronic notice in addition to newspaper public notices.
