The Legislative Service Department responds to all freedom of information requests made under the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA) or the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA). This legislation regulates and controls the information that is made available to the public and provides a formal procedure to request records. MFIPPA not only provides rights to the public to gain access to municipal records, but also protects the privacy of individuals.

A Personal Information Bank is a collection of personal information that is organized and capable of being retrieved using an individual’s name or an identifying number or another identifier assigned to the individual. For example, Payroll Database, Accounts Receivable, Library Patron Databases.

The Photo and Video Release Consent Form allows individuals to provide consent to the County to use photographs or video footage of individuals for official communications and promotional materials, in accordance with privacy requirements.
