FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Middlesex County invites local high school students to be “Warden for a Day”
MIDDLESEX COUNTY (August 31, 2026): Do you want an inside look at local government? Middlesex County is inviting local high school students to apply for their chance to be Warden for a Day on October 13, 2026. The program offers a hands-on opportunity to experience municipal government in action and learn about the important role County Council plays in supporting Middlesex communities.
Students will join Warden Sue Clarke for a full day of leadership and learning at the County Administration Building. The day’s agenda will include a mock swearing-in ceremony, meetings with County staff, and a guided tour of the building, including the historic Middlesex County Gaol. This is your chance to learn about various departments including Forestry and Natural Heritage, Library Services, Middlesex-London Paramedic Service, and Economic Development and Tourism.
Apply now to join us on October 13 to discuss the challenges and rewards of municipal leadership and observe an official Middlesex County Council meeting. You’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at how decisions are made that shape services and support residents across the County.
Interested in applying? Submit a 60-second video OR a short essay answering these two questions:
