FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Middlesex County Brings Local Priorities to the Forefront at 2026 AMO Conference
MIDDLESEX COUNTY (AUGUST 20, 2026) – Middlesex County concluded a productive 2026 AMO Conference discussing local priorities, shared regional perspectives, and advocating for initiatives that support strong communities.
County representatives brought local priorities directly to provincial decision-makers through a series of delegation meetings focused on topics such as employment and industrial lands, community safety, high-speed internet infrastructure, long-term care, municipal fleet vehicles, and privacy protection.
They discussed investments to support employment and industrial growth, opportunities to accelerate rural broadband expansion, strategies to address increasing demand for modern long-term care services, and measures to streamline administrative and regulatory processes for municipalities. The discussions reinforced the importance of collaboration between all levels of government to advance solutions to regional challenges and opportunities.
The conference was also an opportunity to learn about emerging municipal issues, share best practices, and collaborate on solutions that support the needs of residents, businesses and local municipalities.
“The AMO Conference provided a valuable opportunity to engage directly with provincial representatives and municipal colleagues from across Ontario," said Middlesex County Warden Sue Clarke. "The conversations and relationships built through these meetings help ensure Middlesex County's priorities are understood and considered as we continue working to support our communities.”
The insights gained at the conference will help inform Middlesex County's ongoing advocacy efforts and strategic planning activities. The County will continue working with municipal, provincial, and community partners to address shared challenges and support residents across the region.
