Middlesex Municipal Day 2026 hosted by the Municipality of Southwest Middlesex
MIDDLESEX COUNTY, May 8, 2026 – Municipal leaders, emergency services representatives, and community partners from across Middlesex County gathered Thursday for the 77th Annual Middlesex Municipal Day, hosted by the Municipality of Southwest Middlesex.
Held May 7 at the Glencoe Agricultural Hall, the event drew more than 90 delegates representing Middlesex County, local municipalities, the City of London, Middlesex‑London Paramedic Services, the Ontario Provincial Police, and local organizations. Mayor Allan Mayhew of Southwest Middlesex served as master of ceremonies and welcomed attendees on behalf of the host municipality.
The program featured presentations from community organizations and local businesses focused on service delivery, economic development, and innovation. Each featured organization brought a unique perspective to the event, showcasing how local leadership is driving progress across the region.
Quad County Support Services highlighted how their inclusive programming provides individuals with developmental disabilities independence, connection, and community. The Quest Centre shared how their role as a community hub is helping residents in Glencoe and the surrounding area form connections, learn technology and connect with important resources.
Ontario Plants highlighted how their new greenhouse operations in Glencoe are at the forefront of sustainable agricultural operations. Elite Agri Solutions shared how they help farmers navigate the modern agricultural industry by providing business supports, health and safety training, and crop nutrition guidance.
Amanda Gubbels, CAO of Southwest Middlesex, provided an update on the Glencoe Business and Industrial Park Servicing Project, which is preparing shovel-ready, serviced, lots for commercial and industrial development. The project is supported by the province through the Southwestern Ontario Development Fund and received an interest-free loan through the Middlesex County Loan Program.
The day finished with the annual State of the Union address delivered by Middlesex County Warden Sue Clarke. The address highlighted progress on major initiatives such as infrastructure investments, economic development and tourism growth, housing development efforts, and continued innovation within Middlesex-London Paramedic Services.
Middlesex Municipal Day is held annually to provide an opportunity for municipal officials and partners to share information, discuss regional priorities, and strengthen collaboration across the county.
