Middlesex County: On May 19, 2026 Middlesex County Warden Sue Clarke issued the following statement for Paramedic Services Week 2026.
"Across Middlesex County and the City of London, Middlesex-London Paramedic Service is strengthening how we deliver emergency and community healthcare. Paramedic Services Week is a time to acknowledge those efforts and their growing impact across our communities.
Each day, MLPS plays a vital role in ensuring residents receive timely, high-quality care when and where they need it most. From responding to emergencies to supporting innovative community care initiatives, paramedics have a key role in helping residents during some of life’s most challenging moments.
Initiatives like the Mobile Paramedic Outreach Program and Community Paramedicine for Long-Term Care are helping to reshape how care is delivered across our region. By supporting seniors, individuals with chronic conditions, and people who may have difficulty accessing traditional healthcare services, these programs help people remain healthy and independent. By taking a proactive approach, MLPS is helping to reduce unnecessary emergency department visits and ensuring healthcare is delivered in the most appropriate setting.
This work is strengthened through collaboration with hospitals, primary care providers, and community partners. These connections are helping to build a more coordinated and responsive system. By working together, we can better meet the needs of residents today and into the future.
On behalf of Middlesex County Council, I want to thank MLPS paramedics and the entire MLPS team for their ongoing efforts and the meaningful difference they’re making across our communities. During Paramedic Services Week, we recognize the essential services they provide and the positive outcomes they achieve for residents across our region."
