MIDDLESEX COUNTY (July 10, 2026) – Middlesex County Council has ratified a new collective agreement with CUPE 101.5.
The collective agreement is for the term of January 1, 2026 to December 31, 2029. It provides wage increases of 3.95% in the first year, 3.55% in the second year and 3.25% in the third and final year. Other provisions include enhancements to employee vacation leave and improved health and wellness benefits.

The expertise, dedication, and professionalism they bring every day are the foundation of the programs and services we provide to residents across the County. This collective agreement reflects a commitment to supporting our employees and delivering excellent outcomes for the community,” said Paul Shipway, Middlesex County CAO. “I’d like to thank everyone on both sides of the table for their collaborative efforts in reaching an agreement.”
“CUPE 101.5 wants to thank the employer, Board, Bargaining Committees and the members for all their hard work in Bargaining and we are excited that this has been ratified by both Union and Employer. We look forward to the next four years working together,” said CUPE 101 President, Steve Holland.
CUPE Local 101.5 represents full-time and part-time, permanent and temporary employees who provide a broad range of frontline and operational services across Middlesex County. These employees perform vital work across many areas of the organization, including roads, finance, administration, human services, planning, and information technology.
