Middlesex EarlyON expanding programming in 2026

The Library Board received a report outlining the success of last year’s EarlyOn programming and what’s coming up in 2026. In 2025, Middlesex County EarlyOn expanded programming across nine library branches, River Heights Public School, and seasonal outdoor locations across the County. Approximately 3,825 children visited EarlyOn locations a total of more than 10,000 times. Over the year, Middlesex EarlyOn expanded their culturally-grounded Indigenous Programming, developmental screening supports, and Kindergarten transition supports. Additional evening and Saturday programming and virtual programs improved accessibility for working families. In 2026, Middlesex County EarlyOn will expand their evening and Saturday programming and enhance Kinder Connect, their kindergarten transition support programs. Plenty of programming at Middlesex County Libraries

The Library Board received a Library Activities Report outlining recent accomplishments and programming highlights. In March, Middlesex County Libraries launched “Misinformation March,” an initiative helping residents spot false or misleading online content with workshops and curated resources. The library is also promoting GetSetUp, a virtual learning platform offering older adults access to live classes on technology, wellness, and hobbies. High school and elementary students now have access to HelpNow, an online tutoring and homework help service available for free with a library card.
Library branches also hosted a full lineup of March Break activities, including STEM workshops, story times, and craft sessions. Looking ahead, staff are preparing for the library’s transition to a new Integrated Library System this summer, which will support fine‑free borrowing and improved user experience.
