Middlesex County Welcomes Local High School Students as "Warden for a Day"

MIDDLESEX COUNTY, November 18, 2025 - Middlesex County celebrated exceptional community service and leadership at this year’s Warden’s Banquet, held last Saturday in Ailsa Craig in honour of Warden Brian Ropp. As part of the evening’s tradition, Warden Ropp selected several individuals and organizations to be recognized on the 2025 Honour Roll for their outstanding contributions to the community.

This year’s Honour Roll inductees included:

Ailsa Craig and Area Food Bank  Award accepted by Mark Isaac, General Manager and Community Chaplain for the Food Bank

The Ailsa Craig and Area Food Bank was recognized for its ongoing commitment to supporting individuals and families facing food insecurity in North Middlesex and across the County.

North Middlesex Fire Department – Award accepted by Greg Vandenheuvel, Director of Fire & Emergency Services, and Scott Jones, Deputy Fire Chief

The department was recognized for demonstrating tremendous courage, professionalism, and for its unwavering dedication to public safety across North Middlesex.

Joanne Vanderheyden

Joanne was recognized for her decades of service in municipal leadership, her advocacy at the local, provincial, national, and even international levels, and her trailblazing contributions to governance in Middlesex County.

Middlesex County congratulates all 2025 Honour Roll recipients and extends heartfelt appreciation for the work they do to make the county stronger, safer, and more connected.
