Middlesex County Library Services

Middlesex County Library branches are currently open for in-person services. Any library closures or reductions in library hours, will be posted on our social media, and updated on our website whenever possible.

We ask that patrons avoid visiting the library if they are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, or have been exposed to a positive case.  Patrons are reminded that mask mandates are still in place, and we ask that you please wear a mask if able to do so.

Capacity limits are in place at all of our libraries.  We thank you in advance for your patience if asked to wait outside for others to finish their visit, and ask that you please keep your visit to the library brief (15 minutes or less).

Mental Health and Well-being

At the County of Middlesex, we recognize that passive recreation activities are beneficial to our health and wellness, therefore, all of our County woodlots and trails continue to be open to the public, dawn until dusk. We encourage you to visit some greenspace for your physical and mental health during COVID-19.

To ensure any and all individuals and families access and enjoy these outdoor spaces in a responsible and safe manner, we ask that all individuals observe a few common sense rules for their own and others safety.

During COVID-19 using our County woodlot trails safely includes adhering to the following rules:
  • Please stay at home if you are sick or have been in contact with someone who is sick, don’t risk others health and well-being by spreading the virus.
  • Enjoy the county woodlots and the trails with your immediate family only. In keeping with Public Health recommendations, we strongly discourage gatherings of groups of people.
  • Using the trails safely by keeping a distance of at least two arms lengths (6ft/2m) between yourself and other visitors, otherwise known as practicing social distancing.
  • Use your residential bathroom before you visit, washroom facilities are not available at any of our properties.
  • Please do not touch signage as the virus can be transferred across hard surfaces.
  • Please pack out everything you pack in, do not discard tissues etc. on our properties.
  • If you witness inappropriate behavior or large gatherings of people, please do not hesitate to call us at the number below.
  • Please wear bright or his-Visibility clothing so that others and road users can see you.
  • Please cross roads safely and park off the public highways on the shoulder near entrances, please do not block entrances as they may be needed for emergency services and forestry staff.
  • If several cars are located where you plan to stop, please do not block public highways, drive on and choose another location to park.
  • While you are hiking you can use the locate me icon on our webpage to track your location and if you turn on the county woodlot layer on the left hand tool bar our properties are all marked clearly with a bold green boundary. Please do not stray onto private property during your activities.
Enjoy your exercise and stay safe and healthy
